The way over

Import from Medium in three steps

  1. In Medium, open Settings → Security and apps → Download your information. Medium emails you a ZIP.

  2. Create your Mezaic site and drop the ZIP on the “Import from Medium” card (or Blog → Import later).

  3. Pick the stories to bring over. Published pieces keep their original dates; drafts stay drafts. Images are copied into your storage and each post gets a canonical link back to Medium, so search engines keep crediting you.

    Headings, quotes, code, lists, images with captions and embedded videos convert to clean Markdown. Nothing is flattened to plain text.

  • Your publish dates

    Imported posts show the day you actually published them, not the day you moved.

  • Search credit

    Each imported post can point its canonical URL at the Medium original until you take that down, so search engines know which copy is the original.

  • A real editor

    Toolbar, keyboard shortcuts, paste-to-upload images, side-by-side preview, focus mode and autosave with recovery.

  • Readers who follow you

    Built-in subscribers with double opt-in. When you publish, we email your list from your name; they confirm once and unsubscribe in one click.

  • Medium’s export does not include tags or claps; add tags in the editor after importing.
  • There is no built-in tipping or paid membership yet. Link to your existing payment page in the meantime.
  • Comments are not part of Mezaic. Readers reply by email or through your contact form.

Good questions

Before you make
yourself at home.

Do I have to delete my Medium account?

No. Import copies your stories; Medium is untouched. Many writers keep both for a while and set the canonical link to whichever should rank.

What about my Medium followers?

Followers cannot be exported from Medium. Post a final story pointing to your new site and subscribe box; Mezaic’s subscribers are yours to export as CSV any time.

How big can the import be?

Up to 500 posts and 64 MB per upload. Larger imports run in the background and appear in your blog list as they finish.
