Delete a website or account
What deletion removes, what to do first, and the difference between unpublishing and deleting.
Deletion is permanent. If you only want your site offline for a while, unpublish it instead.
Before you delete
- Export your site from Website → Backups if you might want the content later. See Backups, export and import.
- Download invoices you need from Billing → Payment method & invoices.
- If you have a custom domain, note that its DNS records at your provider are not touched. Remove them there if you no longer want them.
Delete a website
- Open Website → Settings and scroll to Danger zone.
- Click Delete website and confirm.
This cancels the website’s subscription, releases its address and custom domains, and removes its content, images, subscribers, analytics, exports and backups.
Delete your account
- Open Account from the menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
- In Danger zone, click Delete account and enter your password.
Every website you own is deleted first, as above, then your account and payment profile are removed. Private plans made for your account are removed too.
