Backups, export and import

Download your whole site as a portable archive, keep daily backups, and restore or import with one click.

Everything you put into Mezaic is yours and can leave with you. Website → Backups has three tools: on-demand exports, scheduled daily backups and import.

Export your site

  1. Click Export your site and choose ZIP (content and all images) or JSON (content only).
  2. The export is built in the background. You get an email when the download is ready: usually within a minute, longer for sites with hundreds of images.
  3. Download it from the Recent activity list. Exports stay available for 7 days; you can hold up to three at a time.

The archive contains mezaic.json (profile, socials, links, content items, companies, posts as Markdown, updates, journeys, spotlights, subscribers and your portal settings) and, in the ZIP, a media/ folder with your images.

Daily backups

On plans that include backups, Mezaic takes a snapshot of every site nightly (03:00 UTC). Unchanged sites are skipped, so the list shows only real changes. Backups are kept for your plan’s backup retention window, always keeping the newest one.

On the Backups page you can Back up now, download, delete or restore any backup. A restore replaces the site’s content with the backup; if the site changed since its last backup, a pre-restore backup is taken first so the restore itself can be undone.

If you move to a plan without backups, existing backups are kept for 30 days.

Import

Import a .zip or .json export into this site in Add or Replace mode. The full walkthrough is in Import a Mezaic backup or export.

Tips

  • Export before a big rework; it is the cheapest undo you will ever have.
  • Backups and exports are stored in a private bucket, separate from your live site, and are deleted when you delete the website.
