Import a Mezaic backup or export
Move a site between accounts, restore from an export, or merge content from another Mezaic site.
Every Mezaic site can be exported as a portable archive, and every site can import one. Use this to move a site to another account, to restore an older version, or to copy content between two of your sites.
Get an archive
- Backups page → Export your site produces a
.zip(content plus images) or a.json(content only). Exports are built in the background; you are emailed when the download is ready and it stays available for 7 days. See Backups, export and import. - Stored backups on the same page can be downloaded directly if your plan includes daily backups.
Import
- Open Website → Backups and find Import.
- Choose the
.zipor.jsonfile. - Pick a mode:
- Add appends everything and fills in only the profile fields that are still empty. Safe for merging.
- Replace first deletes the site’s socials, links, content, posts, updates, journeys and images, then imports. Your address, domains, analytics and plan are untouched.
- Confirm. Large imports run in the background; the page shows progress.
Before anything is written
The import is checked up front and rejected with a precise message if it would go over your plan’s limits (links, posts, content items, storage) or use a tool your plan lacks (for example a blog on a plan without one). Journeys and spotlights are skipped with a warning when the plan does not include them. Nothing is changed in that case, so you can upgrade or trim the archive and try again.
What an archive contains
Profile and socials, link groups and links, every content item (experience, education, products, projects, skills, talks, awards, testimonials), companies, posts as Markdown, updates, journeys with their entries, spotlights, subscribers with their topics and the list of hidden portal tools. The ZIP adds all images under media/; on import they are re-uploaded and every reference, including images inside post Markdown, is rewritten.
