Testimonials

Add quotes you already have, or send people a request page and publish what they write.

Content → Testimonials is one page with three views:

  • On your site: the testimonials shown on your About tab, in order. Add one yourself, edit, hide, reorder or remove it.
  • Requests: what people wrote on your request page, waiting for review. Nothing goes live until you publish it.
  • Request page: the page itself, its link, the message shown on it, and email notifications.

When requests are waiting, a banner at the top of the page tells you how many.

Add a testimonial yourself

For quotes you already have (an email, a LinkedIn recommendation), click Add testimonial, fill in the name, role and quote, and save. It appears on your About tab straight away. Drag the arrows to reorder, or switch it to Hidden to keep it without showing it.

Turn on the request page

  1. Open Content → Testimonials → Request page.
  2. Switch on Request page.
  3. Choose the visibility:
    • Private link: the page exists only at /testimonial/<token>. Share the link with the people you ask. Replace the link at any time to invalidate old copies.
    • Public: the page is also reachable at /testimonial for anyone who visits your site. Your site then shows a Leave a testimonial invitation: a card at the end of the testimonials on your About tab, and a small link in the footer of every page.
  4. Optionally write a custom message shown at the top (“Worked with me? A few honest lines would mean a lot”).
  5. Decide whether you want an email for every request.

The page shows your photo, name, headline and bio, and asks for a name, role and company, email (never published), an optional website or profile link, the quote (20 to 600 characters) and explicit consent to publish. It is never indexed by search engines.

Review and publish requests

New requests arrive under Requests → To review. For each one you can:

  • Edit: trim or fix typos; keep the meaning, they are the author’s words.
  • Publish on site: it joins the list under On your site and renders on your About tab.
  • Reject (keeps a record) or Delete.

A published request is marked From a request under On your site. Editing it there edits the request too, and Remove from site sends it back to To review instead of deleting it.

Which plans

Testimonials are a plan feature. Without it the request page returns “not found” and published quotes are hidden; nothing is deleted.

Abuse protection

The form has a hidden honeypot field, a signed timestamp (the page must have been open for a few seconds), per-visitor rate limits and a cap on pending submissions, so a public page cannot be flooded.

Tips

  • Ask right after a project ends, and send the private link in a personal message. Response rates are far higher.
  • Publish three to five strong quotes rather than twenty; edit for length with the author’s blessing.
